Water Levels begin to normalize

Water levels in the main drinking water source for Frisco, Lake Lavon, are starting to normalize after excessive springtime rains. Lake Lavon and other area lakes were taken from near drought conditions to flood conditions over a period of three months. (Feb 20 to May 30). Many area lakes threatened residential areas in Frisco. The waters are now receding to full reservoir pools. Lake Lavon is at 493 feet; it is considered full at 492 feet and is full flood stage at 503.50 feet. About eleven months after ‘officially’ breaking ground, construction on the new World Headquarters of the Dallas Cowboys and Frisco’s Multi-Use Special Event Center (MUEC) has reached the halfway point of completion. Representatives from the City of Frisco, the Frisco Independent School District and the Dallas Cowboys marked the milestone by observing installation of roof trusses over the 12,000 seat indoor multipurpose event center. In June, the unemployment rate fell to 3.7 percent in Dallas and held steady at 3.9 percent in Fort Worth, while edging down to 4.2 percent in Texas. All three figures are lower than the U.S. rate of 5.3 percent. Unemployment in both Dallas and Fort Worth is below its prerecession low of 4.1 percent, suggesting a tight labor market in the metroplex. Hamilton to Rehab with RoughRiders

Perez and Harrison set to Rehab with RoughRiders

Gallo and Lopez Recognized by Texas Rangers

The Texas Rangers announced today the club’s minor league award winners for May. Third baseman Joey Gallo was named Player of the Month, and left-handed pitcher Frank Lopez was named Pitcher of the Month. Both players were named the Texas League Players of the Week for May 18-24. Gallo, 21, batted .313 (30-96) with seven doubles, nine home runs, 27 RBI, 23 walks, and 19 runs over 28 games in May with the Frisco RoughRiders.
